The Canteen or Locker Room is often swarming with people at peak times (after the game / during the break, etc.). The scent which people carry, and unpleasant odours from sweat come together in a relatively small space and with limited ventilation, the air hangs around for a long time. This causes air quality to deteriorate dramatically. The concentrations of particulate matter, odours and gases are high due to a suffocating combination of cooking and baking equipment, people with body odours and fine particles entering through windows and doors.
